This article presents the results of a qualitative investigation carried out during 2016 and 2017 on 72 young, middle-class women from three public universities in Mexico City. The aim of the study was to know their practices and social representations in their experience of living and circulating in the public interconnection spaces of the city. For this, the starting point is the question of how they represent two of the physical public interconnection spaces they use: The streets they travel along to go to their universities and public transport. But also, the public spaces they travel to: Universities, museums and parks. What is their spatial experience like when moving around in the city? The results display the conditions of insecurity and violence faced by these women in their daily lives and their representations of a city that stalks and neglects them, the city that naturalizes harassment, the city that is unequal for women when it comes to their ways of transportation in, and the representation of, these spaces.

The present article picks up on the results of a Participatory Investigation Action with a Feminine Perspective, with an in-depth exploration of the experience of women in public spaces and how, using it as a starting point, their bodies not only resent, but also react to a hostile environment which requires them to be in a constant state of alert. This article emphasizes the awareness of these violences and their implication in women’s urban practices, specifically when generating protection and care strategies. From individual or collective everyday practices in nearby spaces to those that have been created and consolidated by activism, which exposes the different ways in which women organize and face an everyday life in which fear and violence prevail.

In April 2020, shortly after a new anniversary of Jorge Mario Bergoglio's assumption of the Petrine See in March 2013, we interviewed Brazilian theologian Dr. Maria Clara Bingemer by video call with the purpose of discussing the role of the women, the Synod of the Amazon and the current challenges of the Catholic Church. Recognized for her works Theology and Literature: Afinidades e segredos compartilhados (Editora Vozes, Petrópolis, 2016), Latin American Theology: Roots and Branches (Orbis Books, New York, 2016), Mística e Testemunho em Koinonia: a Inspiração que vem do Martírio de Duas Communities do Século xx (Paulus Editora, San Pablo, 2018) and Simone Weil: Contra o colonialismo (Bazar do Tempo, Rio de Janeiro, 2019), Bingemer, a Brazilian feminist theologian, represents an intellectual effort to continue articulating the social sciences and Theology in Latin America. A graduate of Social Communication in Rio de Janeiro and a doctorate in Theology at the Gregorian University of Rome, she inherited the chair of Leonardo Boff at the Franciscan Theological Institute of Petrópolis after the ban on the renowned Brazilian theologian by John Paul II. Bingemer, specialist in Systematic Theology, works as coordinator of the Carlo Martini chair at the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro and advises the National Conference of Bishops of Brazil, but also as editor of the Revista Eclesiástica Brasileira, Concilium and Journal of the American Academy of Religion (2003-2008).

[drpcap] E [/ dropcap] This paper aims to reflect on the specific characteristics of violent crimes in which adolescent girls participate in Mexico. It is based on a study that included conducting 730 interviews with adolescents, men and women, deprived of their liberty in 17 states of the Republic. The question that motivated this study was: is there a relationship between the conditions of vulnerability that adolescents experienced in their early childhood (Adverse Child Experiences) and the violent crimes they committed? In this work we cite the testimonies of nine adolescent women that allow us to analyze the features that distinguish the violent behaviors in which they participate.
