Anthony Goebel Mc Dermott D. in History from the University of Costa Rica. Professor at the School of History and researcher at the Center for Historical Research of Central America (cihac) of that university. He currently serves as director of the Central American Postgraduate Program in History at the University of Costa Rica. He has conducted research in the areas of environmental history, history of science and economic history.
