Nestor Garcia Canclini He holds a doctorate in Philosophy from the Universities of Paris and La Plata, a distinguished professor at the Autonomous Metropolitan University in Mexico and an emeritus researcher of the National System of Researchers. He has been a visiting professor at the universities of Austin, Duke, New York, Stanford, Barcelona, Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo. He received the Guggenheim Fellowship and several international awards for his books, including the Book Award from the Latin American Studies Association for Hybrid cultures. His main books have been translated into English, French, Italian, Portuguese, and Korean. In 2014 he received the National Prize of Sciences and Arts in Mexico. He is currently studying the relationships between anthropology and aesthetics, reading, creative strategies and cultural networks of young people.
