Maria das Dores Campos Machado She has a degree in Social Sciences from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, a Master and PhD in Sociology from the Brazilian Society of Instruction. She completed a post-doctorate between 2011 and 2012 at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de São Paulo and another at the Institute of Economic and Social Development of Buenos Aires in 2005. In 2017 she was appointed full professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, she retired in 2018 Currently, she is a volunteer professor in the Postgraduate Program in Social Service at this same institution, where she is also coordinator of the Religion, Gender, Social Action and Political Research Center. His lines of research are: religion and politics; gender relations; culture and social movements. She is the author of several books, chapters and articles in books. Among his most outstanding publications are the books Politics and religion: the participation of evangelicals in elections, as well as Charismatics and Pentecostals: religious adherence and its effects on the family sphere, and he also coordinated the books Religions and Homosexualities and The Vows of God : Evangelicals, Politics and Elections in Brazil.
