Maria Eugenia de la O She is a Researcher at the Center for Research and Higher Studies in Social Anthropology at the Occidente Unit in the city of Guadalajara, Jalisco, since 1997. She studied a Doctorate in Social Science with a specialty in Sociology at El Colegio de México. She was an adjunct researcher at the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences of the UNAM and Director of the Department of Cultural Studies and of the Doctoral Program in Social Sciences of El Colegio de la Frontera Norte. It belongs to the National System of Researchers (SNI) level II. She has published articles and book chapters on women in the maquiladora industry, gender and work, youth and precariousness, violence and the northern border. He is currently conducting research on Mexican dreamers in Utah, United States, and on the mobility of the Central American migrant population through the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area.
