Heriberto Cairo He is a professor at the Faculty of Political Sciences and Sociology of the Complutense University of Madrid, of which he has been Dean. He has been a visiting professor at several Spanish and foreign universities. He is the founding director of the magazine Geopolitics (s), edited by ucm. He develops his research in the field of political geography, with special emphasis on the study of the geopolitics of war and peace, political identities and territorial ideologies and borders. Its regional areas of expertise are Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula. He was Chairman of the Research Committee 15 “Political and Cultural Geography” of the International Political Science Association.
