Dorismilda Flores-Márquez is a research professor in the Faculty of Communication and Marketing at Universidad La Salle Bajío, PhD in Scientific-Social Studies from iteso, member of the National System of Researchers of Conacyt at level I. President of the Mexican Association of Communication Researchers for the period 2021-2023, coordinator of the Seminar of Internet Studies (Mexico and Mexico). of Internet Studies (Mexico) and co-coordinator of the section for Participatory Communication Research (iamcr). She is the author of of Imaginar un mundo mejor: la expresión pública de los activistas en internet (iteso, 2019) and co-coordinator, with Rodrigo González Reyes, of La imaginación metodológica: coordenadas, rutas y apuestas para el estudio de la cultura digital (Tintable, 2021).

The Methodological Imagination at the Edge: Notes about the Production of Knowledge

This text enters into dialogue with the article "Essays on the abyss: politics of the gaze, violence, technopolitics" by Rossana Reguillo, in which the author poses the question of methodological imagination and recounts her own work in the production of knowledge over the years. From the reading, I propose a reflection on the ways in which we do social research, in three axes: the positioning we build as researchers, the practices of social research, to finally reach the theoretical and methodological imagination.
