Karina Bárcenas Barajas She has a doctorate in Social Sciences, with a specialty in Social Anthropology, from the Center for Research and Higher Studies in Social Anthropology (CIESAS). Master in Communication of Science and Culture from the Technological Institute and Higher Studies of the West (ITESO) and Bachelor of Communication from the Universidad Iberoamericana (León). He is a member of the National System of Researchers (level I). His lines of research are religion, sexual diversity and political culture; identities, gender and social movements; religion and internet. He has received academic recognition for his research work from institutions such as the Mexican Academy of Sciences and the National Council for the Teaching and Research of Communication Sciences. She is a professor and tutor of the Graduate Program in Political and Social Sciences at UNAM since 2015. She has published in books and scientific journals, has also been a speaker and coordinator of working groups and thematic tables at national and international congresses.
