Director: Ren\u00e9e de la Torre<\/h1>\n\n

Ren\u00e9e de la Torre PhD in Social Anthropology from CIESAS and the University of Guadalajara. Member of the SNI level III and of the National Academy of Science. She is Professor-Researcher at CIESAS Occidente, in Guadalajara, Mexico. She is co-founder of the Network of Researchers of the Religious Phenomenon in Mexico (RIFREM). During his research career he has dedicated himself to the study of religious diversity in Mexico; to the study of the new religious movements; to the emergence of alternative spiritualities such as the New Age and New Mexico and more recently he has investigated the dynamics of transnationalization of Aztec ritual dances and popular religiosity. He has made more than a dozen exhibitions of ethnographic photography. Among his most recent publications, the book Variaciones Latinoamericanas del New Age stands out. CIESAS, M\u00e9xico (2013) published in English New Age in Latin America. <\/em>Popular Variations and Ethnicy Appropriations,<\/em> Brill (2016). She is the author of: \u201cUltra-baroque Catholicism: Multiplied images and decentred religious symbols\u201d. Social Compass<\/em> (2016); and co-author of the following articles: \u201cRoutes et sens postcoloniaux de la transnationalisation religieuse\u201d. Doctor in Geography from the University of London, he is a professor-researcher at the Center for Research and Higher Studies in Social Anthropology (CIESAS Occidente). Her research interests focus on ethnicity and international migration, multiple citizenship, ethnic statistics, and urban segregation.<\/p>\n

Doctor in Social Anthropology from the University of Manchester, her research topics are socio-economic processes, the environment, political and legal anthropology, visual ethnography, socio-environmental conflicts, rights and representation of indigenous peoples and communities and contemporary political identities.
